Seven works this month. Three of them are originals. Four are editions and prints. The range runs from twenty dollars to four thousand nine hundred and fifty.
The three originals are Arick's. They come from the Emotional Brush series, painted in 2023, all on canvas. Matriarchal Strength is the largest at 24 by 18 inches. Feeling Blue and Chaque Jour are smaller and quieter. Each is one of a kind, and the full sale price goes to the artist.
The editions carry the rest of the room. Thomas Spoerndle's Frik Shuhn Chevron, from the series he showed at 17 Essex Street in July, in an edition of thirteen, signed. Lesny JN Felix's Letters O.U.S, from a practice he keeps daily in Harlem. Don Sybil's Abstract Figure in Shapes, made at a small desk in Far Rockaway, roughly the size of the canvas itself. Samuel Abelow's black and white poster, at twenty dollars, which is the least expensive way into this list and not the least serious.
A selection is a set of decisions, and decisions expire. This one changes next month. What is here now will not be here later, and that is the point of calling it a selection rather than a catalogue.
Prints of every Arick painting are available separately, at fifty dollars, because the work should be able to leave the room in more than one way.
